DAVID TAYLOR MEMORIAL WALK

Coalville RA Chairman, Ken Storer will lead an 8 mile circular walk through the Sence Valley Forest Park, Heather and surrounding district on Sunday 22nd August ( David's Birthday).  The opportunity will be taken by Phil Ellis to raise funds for The British Heart Foundation. Simultaneously, a shorter walk of about 4 miles will set off, lead by Jane Harlow, which will appeal to family and local friends.

Our meeting place will be Coalville offices of NWLDC at the car park on London Road at 0900 hrs.  The walks will start from the Sence Valley main car park at 0930 hrs

LARRY BALL MEMORIAL WALK

Saturday 28th August 2010

Depart Mount St. Bernard's Abbey at 9.00am 5 mile walk via Lubcloud and Blackbrook back to the Abbey where we hope to arrange a tree planting ceremony at 12.45pm.

At 1.00pm a second walk will go through Warren Hills and Charnwood Lodge ( our one decent bit of Access Land)  and back to the Abbey. 6 miles.

This will be a " Baton Walk" to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Ramblers.

Please note that all weekend and evening walks meet at Wilton Road Car Park, Melton Mowbray (unless otherwise stated in the individual monthly walks programme), at the time shown. All Walk Titles are for guidance only and may not indicate the starting point.  Whilst every effort is made to ensure this programme is accurate, conditions or events outside our control my dictate late alterations. Dogs are welcome but owners are requested to keep them on a lead at all times.

Please try to be at the meeting point a few minutes earlier than the stated time to allow the leader to give final instructions.

 *On some "morning only" walks, the leader may have organised the option of a Pub Lunch at the end of the walk, please contact the leader before the walk for details.

Non-Members are welcome to join the group for four walks after which they are asked to become members of The Ramblers Association if they wish to continue to walk with the Group.

Where members share cars it is suggested that, if appropriate, that share the cost at a rate equivalent to 3p per mile for the first 20 miles and 2p per mile thereafter.

 Walkers should note that they are not covered by any personal injury insurance and the Ramblers Association, The Melton Group or any of its' leaders cannot accept responsibility for any accident or loss which may occur.  In any case walkers should exercise due care and diligence at all times and be expected to carry/wear suitable equipment Group. Please note that if the Leader deems any walker not having what he or she regards as "suitable equipment" they have the right to refuse the walker taking part as it may jeopardise the rest of the group.

Accidents: - Any accidents occurring on an organised walk, which require a visit to a doctor or hospital must be reported to the Group Secretary or a member of the committee as soon as possible.
